April 3, 2020

Update on schedule:
In light of the guidance from Governor Bill Lee and to help promote the health and safety of our church members and community, the church doors will remain closed until after April 16th.  We will continue to provide updates in regards to when the doors of the church will reopen.  LiveStream on Facebook will continue, follow us on Facebook to get notified when Pastor Jayson goes live with messages on Sunday, Wednesday, and sometimes throughout the week.

With that in mind, remember…the church is not the building it is us as a body of Christ in the community.  So during this time we encourage the church to be the church to those around us.

How can we do this?  There are several ways…here are only a few
1.) Prayer- We need to use this as a season of prayer.  For those who are on Facebook, our pastor has had a 7 day prayer challenge.  This is a time to be praying for the church, for our nation, for our leaders, and for those who are serving in essential roles during this time (healthcare workers, first responders, food distributers/services, child care workers, along with many others)
2.) Encouragement- The world around us has lost hope, they are living in fear, and uncertainty.  We as Christians have a hope and a peace we can share with those around us.  For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.  Let us share the hope we have with the lost and dying world around us.  Let us share with them the peace that only comes by having a personal relationship with Christ.
3.) Serve others-  This may mean a phone call just to say hello, it could also mean going to the grocery store for someone who is high risk and needs to not go out at this time and drop the groceries off at their door.
4.) Respect the guidance of the government and healthcare experts, practice “safer at home” and social distancing as much as possible.

Remember…Easter is coming and even though the church building may be empty…so is the tomb.  We serve a risen Savior and for that we give thanks…for that we can joyfully and worshipfully sing…I know my Redeemer lives.

May God bless each one of you.  We can’t wait to worship with you again coorprately, but until then…we will continue Facebook livestreaming and other means to stay in touch as the church family.

April 3, 2020

Since we will not be holding services at the church building here are some announcements:

1.) Giving- if you are wanting to help/continue to support the church financially during this time there are 2 ways to do this. You can either mail a check to the church at 2313 Elizabethton Highway, Johnson City, TN 37601 or you can drop it off at the church using the door to the right of the main entrance (by the offices) there is a mail slot that can be used and will be checked regularly.
2.) Decisions regarding future services will be on this Facebook group and the church website.
3.) If you have any needs during this time please reach out to your deacon and we will use this as a way to continue to serve our church family.
4.) Adult and children’s VBS is week of June 14th. Mark your calendars.
We hope you and your family are staying healthy (physically and spiritually) during this time. May we draw closer to Christ and we look forward to seeing everyone as soon as possible.
